This week we went deep into the everglades in search for a grand slam. We found a few tarpon at first light, but they were sparse and not giving us the shots we needed for success. After an hour or so hunting tarpon on fly, we switched gears and looked for redfish and snook. Right at the first spot we found redfish grouped up over oysters and began to immediately catch them. Sharks became a issue at this spot so we checked numerous other spots and had similar results at every spot we fished. We mostly saw redfish but we did run into a few tripletail and a lonely snook which we all caught on a small shrimp fly.
Fly Fishing the Everglades has been great!
